Nancy & Lorne Engagement Photos

I did these photos for my friend Nancy and her fiance Lorne in March. Just to give a little background, I've known Nancy for over two decades and our families are very close. In fact, it was possibly a vacation with her that helped me meet my fiance. (Long story short, we met his best friend and girlfriend in the airport in the airport, so when I met Jay online and he told his friends he had met me they were able to give him a vague description of me. I guess it made our first date a little less blind for him. )

I enjoyed doing this photos, especially for such a close friend. After hitting and missing for a few weeks, (she was in Cuba, I was in school, it was too cold, etc.) we finally landed the perfect day to take some outdoor winter pictures - fairly warm and slightly overcast. Because they're getting married next Valentine's Day it was great to get some snowy photos without the chill.

I met them at their house in Abasand and we set out on a trek that only took us within a few blocks of their house.

It was great that Nancy and Lorne were pretty much up for anything I asked them to do and it definitely helps that they're both so photogenic and easy to work with.

Below are two favourites from the shoot...
The first one is my favourite because I think it's kind of hot, you don't know if they're about to kiss or if they've finished and the second one is Nancy's, I think because it's a romantic photo and shows off her ring beautifully.

Thanks guys! I had a great time and now I can't wait for the wedding... I'm assuming I'm getting an invite.

My first post

I've noticed a lot of photographers starting up blogs and I think it's a great idea.
It helps you to show off your photos, as it's often hard to continually update your galleries, but it also allows people to get to know you and your personality through your writing.

So, here it goes.
I'll hopefully post some pictures of what I've done recently to get my blog started.
