Best testimonial ever!!

I got the cutest note on my facebook profile today from one of my former clients, Kandi.

I did a lifestyle portraiture session with her and her daughter back in the fall. You can see their session here.

This is what Kandi wrote:

Hey Jacquie!!!

So i took Nyla to the park this past weekend
and while on the swings she started going on about you
"remember the lady that was playing here with us mommy??
and she was here with her camera"
I said yes...her name was Jacquie
Then she told me...We need to see her again!! LMAO!!!
So I had to tell you this story...it was soo cute!

I love it wen I hear things like this because that's exactly what I want the experience to be like. It reminds me of a story my friend Kari-Anne told me. I did photos of her three sons and the next day her mom asked them if they got photos taken. They apprently replied, "No, we played and then we went for ice cream.

Jen & Jeff's Western Wedding

I have a few baby sessions and a family session I still need to blog, but I was just too excited about this wedding that I just couldn't wait to post some photos.

My husband and I had the pleasure of sharing in the wedding of our good friends, Jen and Jeff Mountain. This wonderful couple stood for us in our wedding almost one year ago and over the long weekend my husband had the honour of being their Best Man, while I documented the day for them.
(You can read about how we know Jen and Jeff on their E-Session post!)

It was a wonderfully laid back wedding, just like this couple. Their favourite long weekend activity is camping and their wedding definitely reflected that. Everyone had a great time and it was definitely a party!

Congratulations to the Mountains! You both deserve all of the happiness in the world.

The one below is my handsome husband hamming it up for the camera.

Tracy & Kevin E-Session

Tracy and Kevin are a great young couple who are planning on going back home to Newfoundland to get married this summer.

We had a great afternoon where it was warm enough to take photos but we still got to have some snow in the background.

Thanks for a great afternoon guys!

TriCoast Workshop in McKinney, TX

I had the wonderful opportunity to work with a great group of photographers from across Texas at a lighting workshop put on by TriCoast Photography. These guys are the leading "experts" on wireless and off camera flash techniques.

They've built a big reputation in weddings, but the biggest part of their offering is in Senior Portraits. This isn't as big of a thing in Canada, but in the States it is common for high school seniors to get portraits done.

We were hosted by the gracious David Quisenberry, who has almost full run of an old flour mill in downtown McKinney, Texas. It was a great space with lots of wonderful places to shoot inside and outside.

Thanks for the great experience.... from Miss Canada!
(I felt like I was in beauty pageant because they kept calling me that.)

Summit of Wedding Photography - Wednesday

On Wednesday, we were joined by a very talented photographer in his own right - Rene Michaud of Bliss Photographic and his cousin, Carmen.
We made them laugh a lot by teasing them that we'd make them kiss, but really they were great models.

As well, we managed to talk Karyn and Preston to put on new outfits and let us take a turn pointing our cameras at them yet again. I have to say that Preston was a great sport for letting Karyn talk him into this.

Summit of Wedding Photography - Tuesday

Sorry for the late update but my internet connection in Irving, TX, was crap and then I was travelling.

On Tuesday, we worked on detail shots and we had real life couple Karyn & Preston. Apparently if they really do get engaged I'll have a booking in Saskatoon. They were really beautiful people both inside and out.

Karyn is a former model and budding photographer, while Preston is a firefighter and training to compete in sprinting at the World Firefighter Games.

As well, we had a model named Katya who posed with the "everyone's groom" Rob.
