Marcus & Leslie E-Session - Old Montreal

My husband and I travelled to Montreal last weekend for the Grey Cup. (The Canadian equivalent of the Super Bowl for my American friends.)

While there we had a chance to meet up with some friends of mine from college. In fact, Marcus and fiancee drove up from Ottawa to join us and our friend Kirsty and her daughter Maggie for brunch and then a stroll around Old Montreal.
I had brought up the idea of taking some engagement photos to Marcus but apparently he forgot to tell Leslie, or at least wasn't very good at communicating why I wanted to take photos that morning. So, to say she was floored after being told after brunch that I had offered to do engagement photos for them is an understatement.

She warmed up to the idea very quickly, although it might have been the heat in the subway.

Anyway, here are some of the images from that chilly morning.

The engagement ring is a family heirloom that Marcus got from Leslie's mom. She told me she wouldn't have wanted to be proposed to with any other ring.

And a quick shot of Maggie, who was fantastic despite the cool weather.

Celine, Marty & Braden

Last weekend I had a chance to do an overnight trip down to Sherwood Park to shoot some engagement photos for a long-time friend, Celine and her fiance Marty and their son Braden.

We originally were supposed to do the photos when I did my trip down south in September, but Celine's grandfather in Ontario got very sick and they headed out East. They did manage to make it out to visit with him before he passed away.

I wasn't sure I would be make it down there again with my busy schedule, but we were able to make it work.

Thanks for a great afternoon guys! I look forward to photographing your wedding in May.

Just a couple of things

Good morning,

I just wanted to send a quick update.

I had a few issues with my blog, but now it's all fixed and anyone can leave comments. So, if you're a blog frequenter, like I know some of you are, then please feel free to leave some comments.

Also, I'm looking at doing a boudoir marathon at the end of the month, November 27-29. I just need to know if a few more people are in so that I can book a hotel room (or two).
The cost will be $500 and will include an 8x10 print, a photo book 8x8 with 20 images and a 1.5 to 2 hour long photo session.
In addition, I have found a stylist to do hair and makeup, which will be an additional $75.

You wouldn't get the album in time to give it as a Christmas present, but we could get the photo for you to give as a teaser and I could do up a "gift certificate" that's good for the book.

I already have one lady who is interested, I just need a few more to make it worthwhile, especially with renting the hotel room suite.

Just contact me at info@jmphotographydesign.ca if you're interested.

Jocelyn & Ben E-Session

I had offered to do photos for this couple back in the spring, as I've known them for a couple of years now. Ben was formerly my boss at the movie theatre when I worked there part time and Jocelyn moved up here to be with him.
I liked her immediately as she was one of the nicest people I'd ever met. I bugged Ben about making sure he knew she was a keeper.

They wanted to get some photos done before their wedding which is happening in three weeks in Brandon, Man., where Jocelyn is from.

Congratulations guys! I hope your day is wonderful.
