I've been in Chicago for the past few days for a Creative Freelancer Conference, put on by HOW magazine and Marketing Mentor.
All-in-all it was about teaching me how to run my business better so I can do the best work for my clients and still have time for myself. I'm planning on putting a lot of what I learned into practice when I return home, which will be today.
I met some really great people from all over the continent - Minneapolis, New York, Chicago, Victoria, Windsor, Toronto, North Carolina .... and many more places I can't name off the top of my head but that I could possibly figure out if I dug out all of the business cards I collected.
It was a great opportunity to meet other creative people who were going through the same issues and challenges that I have been going through and to be validated that this is something I can and should do for myself. Some people at the conference have been in business for themselves longer than I've been alive!
I look forward to keeping in touch with my "Park Grill" tribe, as well as maybe keeping in contact with the nice ladies at Function Fox, whose time management program is great for the creative professional.

In other news, I've finally gotten the website to the point where I feel comfortable about it going live.
The official url will be www.jmphotographydesign.ca but until Tuesday, which is when I'm assuming it will actually go live since it's a long weekend, you can sneak peek it at www.jmphotographydesign.ca/lucy.
Have a great day!
I'm going to be in planes, trains and automobiles all day long.
